REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Chairman of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR), Zulkifli Hasan think the discussion of law on sexual violence bill by house of representatives (DPR) needs to be accelerated.

He said, many cases of sexual violence happened in Indonesia.

"Sexual violence is very high and dangerous," said Zulkifli in Jakarta, Saturday (7/5).

For that, he continued, the House is expected to speed up the discussion of the bill. Zulkifli added, severe penalties for the perpetrators of sexual violence are very reasonable.

"So,  House of Representatives is expected to decide that law. In response to the many people who asked for the enactment of castration punishment for the perpetrators, I asked for it to be considered again," said Zulkifli.

Zulkifli added that sexual violence is very alarming like the Yuyun’s case. Rape and murder case of Yuyun, student of grade II junior high school 5 Districts Padang Ulak Slam was murdered in extremely sadistic and cruel.
