REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or known as Ahok sait that he was not worry if several figures ran for 2017 gubernatorial election. He said it will be much better to select best candidate.
Yesterdat, Gerindra party was known to select their candidates for election. Ahok feel he didn't need to feel worry, even if that political party first entered the gubernatorial election.
He also admitted if the mayor of Bandung, Ridwan Kamil could be the winner in 2017 election. Ahok said he will accept it because many people want to be governor in this capital city.
"Yes, it's okay. My view is that elections must be followed by many candidates," Ahok told reported one Wednesday (27/1).
He explained with many candidates, many new ideas for the development of Jakarta will appear. So, many people in this capital city would get benefits.
"People can see a lot of vision, mission, program, strategy, policy of all candidates. If everyone could hear, for whom will the benefits? Obviously, citizens of Jakarta," Ahok explained.
Meanwhile, he said he doesn't mind if he is not elected, if there is a better candidate than himself. For example candidate that could develop flood and solve the traffic problem.
"If there is a candidate who is better than me, don't vote for me," Ahok added.
