Ministry of Transportation to evaluate Airbus A320

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Ministry of Transportation through Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has formulated an action plan to follow up on recommendation of National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) related to the results of investigation of incident of AirAsia QZ8501 Surabaya-Singapore route. The accident occurred on 28th December 2014.

Director General of Civil Aviation, Suprasetyo, said KNKT recommendations to AirAsia were the importance of Standard Call Outs in all phases of flight and also training for pilots in takeover of control of various phases of the crisis. The DGCA has made a special team to ensure that all corrective actions and KNKT's recommendation to AirAsia was applied.

DGCA also would conduct a special inspection and evaluation of the operation of entire Airbus A320, related to analysis and corrective action against technical problems that occur in the component or system of RTLU.

"Also to evaluate technical and operational manuals related to repetitive handling trouble," Suprasetyo said, in a press conference at Ministry of Transportation office, Jakarta, Thursday (3/12).

In addition, Ministry of Transportation would also increase frequency of pilot training, especially upset recovery to be done per six months. Then adding a pilot training sessions related to manual flying skills and standard call outs which refers to FCOM.
