Rosatom ready to build nuclear power plant in Indonesia

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MOSCOW -- Russian nuclear power company, Rosatom, stated that it is ready to build Nuclear Power Plant in Indonesia.

"We are ready if the government asked us to build a nuclear power plant in Indonesia," said Deputy Director of Research of Kurchatov Institute, Prof. Yaroslav I Strombakh, in a press conference in Moscow, Russia, late September, as quoted by Antara.

Kurchatov Institute is a national research center in collaboration with the Russian nuclear company, Rosatom. Previously, the Government of Indonesia through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) finalized a roadmap of nuclear power plants with a capacity of 5,000 megawatts (MW).

He explained that Russia has a powerful ability in nuclear technology. Russia developed disaster-resistant reactor that can last up to for a long time.

"We can make power reactors in accordance with customer specifications," he added.
