REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) asked the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to supervise the oil and gas sector. It is alleged due to the rise of 12 kg LPG price by PT Pertamina during January to August 2015.

"We hope that the Corruption Eradication Commission could do more intensive supervision in the oil and gas sector," said research coordinator of ICW, Firdaus Ilyas, Friday (21/8).

The supervision of KPK is important because the transparency and accountability of the oil and gas management is still low. Especially the increase of the selling price of 12 kg LPG. ICW also asked the Financial Supervisory Agency (BPK) to conduct examination with a specific purpose.

"The examination needs to be conducted related Pertamina’s policy in the management of 12 kg LPG," he explained.

Previously, Firdaus said that the selling price of 12 kg LPG in 2015 has exceeded the market price. The public has an average loss of Rp 1,630 per kg or or Rp 19,565 per tube

"We hope that Pertamina can immediately lower the selling price of 12 kg LPG. The price needs to be adjusted with a reasonable economic price," he said.
