VP wants police to act firmly on dwelling time case in Trade Ministry

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Police have named three suspects in the case of alleged corruption dwelling time in the Trade Ministry. Vice President Jusuf Kalla also asked the authorities should strictly enforce the law so that the economy could also run well.

"I agree that the forces of law to be act firmly so our economy can run well," said JK in the Vice President’s office, Jakarta, on Wednesday, July 29.

He handed over the cases of alleged corruption in the Directorate General of Foreign Trade at the Trade Ministry on the legal process. If convicted, it must be punished in accordance with the applicable rules.

"We wait for the police investigation. After it set, then it verifiable how. Let the rule of law run. If they wrong, punish them. If they corrupt, yes they should be punished," said VP

Earlier, the Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General of Police Tito Karnavian said three suspects were daily paid workers (PHL) in the Trade Ministry with initials N, workers importers of MU, and Kasubdit officials at the Directorate General of Foreign Trade at the Trade Ministry with initial I.

Investigators seized evidence of money amounted 10 thousand US dollars from suspect N. Presumably the money for delays cost in loading and unloading of container exports and imports at the Tanjung Priok Port.
