REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Joko Widodo gathered a number of ministers in a closed meeting to discuss social aid at the Presidential Office, on Tuesday afternoon, July 7.

When opening the meeting, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) emphasized that the social aid funds program should be right on target. Therefore, he asked to immediately complete the process of validation and verification of funding recipient’s data.

"I want to immediately process the validation, to coordinate quickly with the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), so that the assistances can be realized and to be right on target," he said.

Disbursement of social aid funds itself has begun gradually since 1 April 2015, precisely since the disbursement funds of Welfare Family Card (KKS).

In addition to social aid funds, the meeting will also discuss the assistance funds to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (UMKM). The president said the economic activity of the people must continue to be driven by a variety of the assistance funds program.

"Principally, we want economic activities of the people are running. Therefore, in the distribution of all programs, to identify which sector that emergency and quick, especially the productive sector," he said.

The limited meeting was attended by Social Minister Khofifah Indar Parawansa, Cooperatives and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) Minister AGN Puspa Yoga, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Sofyan Djalil and State Secretary Pratikno. C37
