REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MEDAN -- The identification process of victims of Hercules C-130 plane crash in Jalan Djamin Ginting, Medan, entered the fourth day, on Friday, July 3. Seeing the condition of the victim, the identification process using fingerprints and dental structures was difficult to do.

"Visually we've been difficult to identify the victim, then (the identification process) will experience a slowdown," said Head of Medical and Health (Kapusdokkes) Brigadier Police Arthur Tampi at Adam Malik Hospital, Medan.

Arthur said the condition of the victim began to swell and difficult to recognize both of posture, facial and property used.

If one of the primary identification could not be done, he said, the DVI team will identify bodies through DNA testing. "And it takes a long time, so we hope the victim's family to understand it," said this one-star general.

DNA samples will be taken to Police Headquarters for examination. At least, said Arthur, took the fastest 24 hours or 48 hours to get results. In fact, he said, to get the results it could take time more than that.

So far, 145 body bags have been received by the DVI Team. At least 96 of them have been identified. The police and military were still combing the crash site of Hercules to search the possible victims which were still under the collapsed buildings.
