REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Commission III of the House of Representatives (DPR) held a meeting with the Police, on Thursday, July 2. There were some things that were discussed in the working meeting attended by National Police Chief, Badrodin Haiti. Chairman of Commission III, Aziz Syamsudin said in the meeting that was suspended at 14.00 WIB was just discussing three things.

First, he said, about improving the professionalism of the Police on the terms of performing activities that protect the society. Second, about the program in the Strategic Plan of police. On the second discussion, Commission III requested to immediately implement the strategic program of police.

"Also that the police budget is distributed appropriately to these programs," Aziz said after led the working meeting with the Police Chief, on Thursday, July 2.

Aziz added, in the third discussion, Commission III asked for explanations about the readiness of the police in dealing with simultaneous local elections on December 9. Because, until now, the budget required by the police for security have not been met entirely.

"Until now, the available funds of Rp 1 trillion will be around Rp 300 billion," said Aziz.

According to Golkar Party politician, there must be a solution related to the financing of this simultaneous local election security. Because, the security factor became a major factor in the simultaneous local elections.
