REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Joko Widodo has announced Selection Committee Team (Pansel) of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) consisting of nine women from various professional backgrounds. The team will pick KPK officials on the next year.

Member of Commission III of the House of Representatives (DPR) Arsul Sani said the establishment of the team has been very precise and good because the people consisted of different backgrounds.

"I appreciated the right choice of this team by President Jokowi, because it is not focused only on people with law background," said Arsul when contacted by ROL on Thursday, May 21.

Coming from various fields, he saw this team would be working professionally in selecting the KPK commissioners. Not only to consider the legal aspects but also look from the other side as, for example, management, psychological, and economic.

According to him, there are a lot of capacities that must be owned by KPK commissioner who would not only base on the law enforcement aspect. But, considering at the other aspects that can be strengthened with competence in other fields such as managerial and development systems.

He felt that President Jokowi has chosen precisely those with backgrounds different. Obviously with the competence that has no doubt.

"I believe these people will work in a professional manner according to their competencies to strengthen KPK," said politician of United Development Party (PPP).

President Jokowi recently announced Selection Committee Team at Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport, Jakarta. The team filled by criminal law expert, expert in constitutional law, business law, economists, sociologists, psychologists, and governance experts.

By choosing this team, it is expected the president’s commissioner has strong ability and be able to improve the synergy of KPK in order to establish a system of prevention of corruption.
