REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, TANGERANG - Soekarno-Hatta add facilities for persons with disabilities in the area of the airport terminal 1.

"We added lift and toilets with automatic doors,” Terminal Operations Coordinator I, Slamet, said, on Wednesday, May 6, in Tangerang.

Slamet explained, the management of Soekarno-Hatta Airport has installed the facility. This time the manager just increases the number of existing facilities.

Especially for toilets with automatic doors, airport management has added one of each in Terminal 1 A, B, and C. He continued, the location of the toilet is located right after the check-in counter.

"So our colleagues with special needs do not have to laboriously open the door by pushing or pulling the door handle," he explained.

Slamet said, the disabled could simply press the sensor that has been provided. The sensor can then be controlled from the outside and from the inside.

Soekarno-Hatta also adds three units of elevators on the airport apron. So, Slamet explained, the disabled do not need to bother driven from the plane passing through remote gate toward the exit terminal.

"So person with wheelchair now just in and will be directed toward the exit," said Slamet.

Slamet reveal additional lift for the disabled is also equipped with CCTV camera. It was to keep an eye on anyone who got into the elevator.
