Ahok requests state electricity to disconnect electricity in illegal area

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Governor of Jakarta Basuki ‘Ahok’ Tjahaja Purnama requests State Electricity Company (PLN) to not conduct electricity in illegal areas of Jakarta. PLN should be able to crack down on the flow of electricity used in the wrong place.

"I said areas which are occupying land of state should not be given the electric," said Ahok at City Hall, Tuesday, May 5.

The General Manager of PT PLN Jakarta and Tangerang (Disjaya), Haryanto WS has ended his position on 23 April. His post is now given to the former General Manager of PLN Bali, Syamsul Huda.

In a chance in meeting at City Hall, Haryanto introduced the new general manager. Haryanto expected future cooperation between the Provincial Government (Provincial) with PT PLN Jakarta could work as well as before.

"PLN introduce the new general manager, we want there will be some cooperation," said Ahok.

The tasks of the PLN previously been given to Syamsul. Ahok want cooperation on the future with The Indonesian Railways co. (PT KAI). "I relayed PLN will conduct such cooperation with the Railways. We dismantle the vast land, we make flats (for a living in illegal buildings)," said former regent of East Belitung.
