REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo chaired a cabinet meeting on Monday to discuss issues related to the prices of basic necessities.

"The prices of rice have returned to normal, but I want the prices of other basic necessities to continue to be monitored," Jokowi said while opening the cabinet meeting.

The president then asked his cabinet ministers to continue to monitor not only the prices of rice, but those of other basic necessities, as well.

"The prices of not only rice, but those of other basic necessities should also continue to be monitored," the head of state emphasized.

Moreover, Jokowi added that the cabinet meeting was held to also discuss the legal, security, and political situation at home, and to follow up on his overseas March 22 to 29 trip to Japan and China.

Arriving in Jakarta from his trip on Sunday, the president noted that his working visit to Japan and China had some positive results that needed to be followed up.
