Landslide killed two in Bali

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, DENPASAR-- Landslide in Karangasem, Bali, killed two on Saturday, January 31, morning. Rainy season caused the earth and rock to slide in Sanghyang Ambu Village, Candidasa, Karangasem.

"The landslide happened so fast that they couldn't save themselves," an eye witness, Komang Widiarti, said on Sunday, February 1.

The landslide buried the victims' house. The victims are Ni Nyoman Klemun (60) dan her grandchild, Ni Wayan Dwi Ulandari (7).

Widiarti said the landslide also caused traffic jam in Karangasem-Candidasa street. It buried main road towards the city. Head of Karangasem Local Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), IB Ketut Arimbawa, said the mudslide was caused by heavy rain.
