REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Chairman of the Central Advisory Council of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Amien Rais expressed hope that the party's current chairman Hatta Rajasa would replace him (Amien Rais).

"That's the hope and all for the common interest," Amien said during a dialogue held as part of preparations for PAN 4th congress here on Monday.

The tradition of party chairman just one period, thus regeneration goes well, Amien Rais, the former chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) explained.

Another consideration is that a lot of input said that the PAN will be crushed as already happened in the United Development Party (PPP) and Golkar that leads to dualism of leadership.

Meanwhile, one of candidates for the PAN chairman Zulkifki Hasan said although support continues to flow, he handed it over to the owner of the upcoming congressional voice.

On Wednesday (Jan 7) Amien Rais said "I have a dream, a dream that is not pompous. I hope that the upcoming PAN congress serves to reunify, rejuvenate, reconcile, and revitalize (party cadres)," Rais said in his address at the 2015 national meeting of PAN here on Wednesday evening.

Rais, who was the former chairman of the People`s Consultative Assembly (MPR), stated that currently, there are at least two candidates who will compete for the chairmanship position at the fourth PAN congress---Hatta Rajasa and Zulkifli Hasan.

"Frankly speaking, it will be difficult to choose between them. Both have experience in the executive and legislative bodies. So the congress will decide between the two figures," he remarked.

The PAN Executive Board meeting on Wednesday evening was held with the single agenda of determining when the fourth PAN Congress should be scheduled.
