No more jeans for First Lady Iriana Widodo

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The First Lady, Iriana Widodo said that she would adjust her status as the first lady, especially in terms of dress. In several times, she is seen wearing casual shirts and jeans while visiting her husband at City Hall in Jakarta.

"I am not going to change very much. I only adjust the event. For now, I cannot use my jeans," she said on Sunday.

Being the first lady, Iriana said that she did not use personal fashion stylists.

"I do not thing about that. The important thing is I wear comfortable clothes. If I use fashion stylists, I cannot relax, then I cannot get comfortably works," she added.

Once installed as president, Iriana understands that her husband will present in many state occassions, both in Indonesia and abroad, so that she will try to perform better.

"Yes, there must be preparation. I have to adjust my clothes too. I am Indonesian, so I have to wear Indonesian traditional clothing, like kebaya," she said.
