REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG - A team of investigators from the Attorney General's Office searched two offices of the state-owned postal firm PT Pos Indonesia in Bandung, West Java, on Thursday in connection with an alleged graft case. The team searched the office of the company's procurement division at Jakarta Street, Bandung, and seized many procurement documents at the office.

After searching for nearly one hour from 10.00 to 11.00 am, the team examined the working room of the financial service director on floor seven of Graha Pos Indonesia building at Banda Street.

"The search is related to the case of personal data terminal used by PT Pos Indonesia," manager of PT Pos Indonesia's public relations service Abu Sofian stated.

He claimed that the procurement of personal data terminal was not in violation of any rules.

If the Attorney General's Office, however, insisted on following up on the alleged graft case, the management of PT Pos Indonesia would not raise objection, he noted.

"No regulation has been violated in the procurement of the apparatuses. It is for the Attorney General's Office to decide whether the procurement was done in violation of any regulation," he said.

He stated that the search operation did not cause disturbance to the operational activities of PT Pos Indonesia. "Anyway, the search is part of a legal process, so we have no problem with it," he added.
