REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - President-elect Joko Widodo and vice president-elect Jusuf Kalla visited President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's open house at the State Palace to convey "Happy Eid al Fitri" greetings.

Joko Widodo, popularly known as Jokowi, came wearing a blue traditional batik costume flanked by his wife Iriana, while Jusuf Kalla was wearing a brown batik costume and came along with his wife Mufidah.

After exchanging greetings, President SBY took the opportunity to have himself photographed with Jokowi.

This will be President SBY's last open house as a president, as he will step down in October following the July 9 presidential election that was won by Jakarta Governor Jokowi and former vice president Jusuf Kalla.

Before visiting the palace, Jokowi had also held open house at the City Hall after leading an Eid al Fitri prayer at the compound and received several guests at his official residence on Taman Suropati 7 in Menteng, Central Jakarta. At the City Hall, Jokowi said that the Eid al Fitri was a moment of national unity.

"After passing through a month full of blessings and forgiveness, we must now return to our true identity as a large nation and reunite as an Indonesian nation," he said.

In view of that, he called on the people to use this event as a moment of reconciliation following the recent general elections.
