Yudhoyono flies with his presidential aircraft for the first time

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono for the first time flew with his presidential aircraft, the Boeing Business Jet 2 to Bali for a working visit this afternoon. The plane has arrived at Halim Perdanakusumah airport on April 10, 2014.

"One thing that I want to say, for 10 years as president, I am grateful for the last six months that I could get a special plane and save the state budget," Yudhoyono said at State Palace Jakarta on Monday as reported by Esthi Maharani.

The aircraft is a state's property. President previously visited various countries using a leased aircraft from Garuda Indonesia airline, a national flag carrier.

This aircraft was manufactured in 2013. It is 38 meters long, 12.5 meters high and a wingspan of 35.79 meters. The VVIP plane cost was around 847 billion IDR. It can accommodate up to 67 passengers. There are four meeting rooms, 2 VVIP state rooms, 12 executive areas and 44 staff areas.
