REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Former Head of Constitutional Court, Mahfud MD was reported to Criminal Investigation Department at the Police Headquarters. He was reported by Ahmad Jazuli Abdillah, spokesman for Banten gubernatorial election candidate pair Wahidin Halim and Irna Narulita on defamation allegations.

"We reported Mahfud MD on allegation of defamation against Abdillah," Abdillah's lawyer, Andi Syafrani said recently.

Syafriani said that Mahfud expressed offensive words including accusing Abdillah as a disbeliever. He said that he had strong evidences, including some articles published in several print and online media.

Mahfud said he knew the report after reading a press release published by Abdillah who said 

Mahfud in involved in electoral fraud in Banten. Earlier, it was Mahfud who reported Abdillah on Friday and accused him involved in winning Ratu Atut Chosiyah and Rano Karno in the Banten gubernatorial election.
