Papua New Guinean banned to enter Indonesia

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAYAPURA - A total of 3,000 Papua New Guinean with cross-border traditional's card were banned to enter Indonesian territory. Indonesian Consultant to Vanimo Papua New Guinea (PNG), Jahar Gultom said that the ban was imposed to respond the PNG government that banned Indonesian people to enter their territory.

"We also ban Papua New Guineans who cultivate plantation in Indonesian territory," Gultom said on Thursday. The PNG government earlier banned Indonesian to enter their country based on across border agreement ended on March 18, 2013. Papua New Guinean who enter Indonesian territory generally wanted to cultivate plantation and sell crops such as betel nut or shopping for daily needs.
