REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is suggested to reshuffle the current cabinet, known as Indonesian United Cabinet II, to enhance the solidity and performance of his governance.

"Cabinet reshuffle aims to increase the cabinet's performance," a senior politician of Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), Pramono Anung, said on Tuesday.

The resignation of Andi Mallarangeng from his office as Minister of Youth and Sports is the right momentum for the president to reshuffle his cabinet. Anung hopes that SBY could replace some ministers who had bad performance. He also expects SBY to replace Mallarangeng with a person who does not have political interest.

Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) also support the reshuffle to increase the performance. "Principally, we will respect president's prerogative rights. It is for better cabinet consolidation," a member of PKS, Hidayat Nur Wahid, said.

As a coalition party, PKS is in passive position in terms of reshuffle. He said that PKS would neither encourage nor prohibit president to reshuffle his cabinet.

He hopes that SBY will wisely use his prerogative rights to appoint or replace the ministers. He also urges all parties not to push the president.
