REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SOLO – The reverberation of the student made car, Kiat Esemka, reaches Germany. The big companies such as Mercedes, VW, and BMW gave their appreciation. “Deputy of Indonesian Ambassador in Berlin, Diah WM Rubianto came to Solo. She is willing to facilitate the meeting between those companies and us,” Mayor Surakarta, Joko Widodo (Jokowi for short -ed) said on Monday.

Jokowi said, it was a big chance for students of Vocational High School (SMK) Solo -who made Esemka- to study in those world-famous companies. “We still have to learn management, machinery, and any others. We may go to Germany in March 2012 through the invitation from Indonesian Ambassador for Germany in Berlin,” he said.

“Our coming to Germany is not for fun. We will study. The group should be well-prepared,” Jokowi said. The students going to Germany are those who have certain qualification. Jokowi added, in Germany he would also promote the tourism and craft from Solo. “Tourism in Solo is good enough. We will promote it so that Germans will come to Solo,” he said.
