REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan has revoked two draft bylaws (Raperda) related to reclamation. He asserted that there would be no discussion on reclamation on the draft by laws in 2018 on DKI Jakarta Provincial Government and Regional Legislative Council (DPRD).

"By revoking Raperda related to Jakarta Bay reclamation, there will be no discussion in 2018," Anies said at Jakarta City Hall on Friday (December 15).

The two draft bylaws that has been revoked was Raperda on Zoning Plan for Coastal Zone and Small Islets (RZWP3K) and Raperda on Spatial Plan for Strategic Area of North Coast of Jakarta (RTRKS Pantura).

The two draft bylaws were proposed by former Jakarta governor Djarot Saiful Hidayat at the end of his term. Anies said, he will review of the entire contents of the draft bylaws.

All the rules in draft bylaws that does not match with his campaign promises will be overhauled. Anies will also form a team to ensure the contents of the Raperda are in accordance with his campaign promises.

"We will make sure everything is accordance with our campaign promises and we will utilize the entire coastal area of Jakarta to the interests of the people," Anies explained.

Earlier, Anies said, Jakarta Provincial Government will take legal action against C and D islets on Jakarta Bay. The reclaimed islets has polemic and has discontinue to build because it did not have building permit (IMB).

However, Anies did not reveal details about the legal steps.

He only emphasized, the arrangement of coastal areas in North Jakarta has to be considered for the long term related to the needs of the current and future Capital. He wanted Jakarta's beach area can be enjoyed by all citizens.

Jakarta's bay reclamation became subject to hot debate during the gubernatorial election campaign this year.

During the campaign period, Anies Baswedan paired with Sandiaga Uno repeatedly vowed to stop that project. They said, reclamation was environmentally unfriendly and would disrupt the livelihoods of fisherfolk and people around the project's area.
