Sandiaga Uno speaks at Dubai Investment Forum

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Jakarta Vice Governor Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno is attending the Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD) Global Investment Forum in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

In a press release received by Antara here on Friday, Uno said it is the first time that the ICD has invited administrative leaders from Indonesia and also given an opportunity to speak at the forum.

"I spoke about investment opportunities in Asia," he noted.

At the forum, Uno explained that Jakarta is a prospective investment destination in Asia.

"I expect investment in Jakarta in 2018 to increase up to Rp100 trillion," he remarked.

The vice governor also highlighted development in Jakarta that includes the development of tourism on Seribu Islands, public transportation, and property sector based on transit-oriented development.

"Several people are interested to invest in Jakarta," he pointed out.

The ICD Global Investment Forum is one of the leading prestigious economic and investment forums in the world. Uno was directly invited by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum who is the prime minister and vice president of the UAE.

The prestigious forum is also attended by several prominent figures, including presidents of Mali and Gambia as well as business leaders from around the world that manage over US$5 trillion of investment funds.
