REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- TNI Commander General Gatot Nurmantyo stated he never revealed that there are other institutions planned to bring 5,000 weapons illegally to Indonesia.

"I have never had a press release, I just told the retired army, but the news came out, I will not respond (about the illegal weapons)," said the TNI Commander in TNI Headquarters, Cilangkap, East Jakarta, on Sunday.

Nevertheless, he admitted that the video published online about the illegal weapons was indeed recording his statement. "It's true, but I have never had a press release, so I do not need to respond," he repeated.

Responding to the statement of Coordinating Minister for Political and Legal Affairs, Wiranto, who said there is a miss communication between TNI, National Intelligence Agency (BIN), and National Police (Polri), Gatot said it can be asked directly to Wiranto.

In a video recording, the TNI Commander said there is an institution that will bring 5,000 weapons illegally by taking the name of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). The statement was made by Gatot in front of retired officers at TNI Headquarters, Cilangkap, Jakarta, on Friday.
