Police release 126 people caught in "the Wild One" party

Police officer is conducting crime scene investigation in the case of "the Wild One" gay party at Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, Tuesday (May 23).

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – North Jakarta Metro Police released 126 men caught in ‘the Wild One’ party as they were not involved in any pornographic crime. 

“If they were not involved in crime, we returned them,” said the spokesperson of National Police Rikwanto at his office in South Jakarta on Tuesday (May 23). 

According to Rikwanto, a total of 141 men were arrested during the raid. Police had examined them and named 10 suspects. The others were returned home as they were not proven guilty.

“It has been 24 hours (so they were returned home),” he said. 

The ownership of ticket enterance to Atlantis Gym could not be classified a crime, as it was only a registration fee for having gymnastic facilities. 

The 10 suspects were charged by article 36 juncto article 10 of Law No. 44 in 2008 on Pornography with 10 years of imprisonment. They consisted of four strip dancers and six organizers of sex party. 

“They acted like event organizer. People paid and came. But, in fact there were porno action and pornography,” he said. 

Police would investigate other parties held by the organizers.
