Money politics dominates the reports on the second round of Jakarta election

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- General Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) of Jakarta found that alleged money politics cases dominating the report of the second round of Jakarta gubernatorial election. 

Coordinator of Law and Violation Enforcement Muhammad Jufri said there were 45 cases reported from a total of 108. "The most report was on money politics," said Jufri in North Jakarta on Wednesday (May 3).  

Chairman of Bawaslu Mimah Susanti said Bawaslu conducted prevention efforts on money politic cases, for example the distribution of basic need parcels. The society cooperated by preventing it to be distributed. "As basic needs storage could also classified into violence," said Mimah.  

Jufri confirmed the information. Before the parcels were distributed, it could not be said as money politics. Therefore, Bawaslu and the society should prevent such violation.  

Jufri also mentioned the basic needs bazaar coloring the gubernatorial election. It was a regulation slit for General Election Commission (KPU) as bazaar was permitted during a campaign.

He said there should be a special mechanism of the bazaar. It should consider a clear and rational pricing. It would need a long time finish it.

Problems on ethnics, religions, races and groups and black campaign took the second most cases reported. There 18 reports of the cases. 

The third position was about voters data. It got 15 reports on it.  

It was different to the first round of the election where viters data took the first position with 64 from 200 cases. Campaign notification and money politics took the second and third position with 27 and 23 reports.
