Jakarta focuses on traffic and flood management project with S. Korea

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Jakarta Provincial Government focuses on the project with South Korea for flood and traffic management. Governor of Jakarta, Joko Widodo, kniwn as Jokowi, met with Ambassador of South Korea, Kim Yeong Seon, on Friday to talk on the cooperation.

"The project concentrates on the normalization of Ciliwung River. The design will be done on April. We expect to start the project by June 2013," Jokowi said on Friday after the meeting. The project will all be carried out by South Korea.

Jokowi and Yeong Seon also discussed on railway to and from Bekasi-Jakarta and also humanitarian assistance from South Korea for flood victims. Yeong Seon invited representatives from Indonesia to Korea to learn flood management system implemented in South Korea. Both will discuss the flood further on Monday.

Indonesia and South Korea also cooperate in the ongoing project of the building of environmental friendly and pollution free power plant in Ancol, Pure Cell Power Plant. The power plant is claimed to have high efficient.

The power plant will be finished in the next two or three months. It will produce electricity for Jakarta.
