Ahead of 313 rally, police closes roads to the State Palace

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Ahead of 313 rally, Jakarta Metro Police will close the road to the State Palace. The mass planned to rally after conducting congregational Friday prayer at Istiqlal Mosque, Central Jakarta, on Friday (March 31). "Some roads to the State Palace will be closed on Friday," Jakarta Metro Police Chief Mochammad Iriawan in front of Parliament building, Thursday (March 30).

Iriawan explained radius of 500 meters from the Palace will be forbidden area. According to the regulation, the mass could not access the area. 

The police would also manage the traffic before, during, and after 313 rally. "Patung Kuda area, Veteran Street, and Gambir area will not be accessible," Iriawan said.

Iriawan urged the mass would end the rally before 18.00 pm. The police will take firm action if the demonstrator were becoming violent. Even so, Iriawan said the rally is a citizen's right that is protected by the regulations.
