REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Former Jakarta governor candidate, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono has said goodbye to sympathizers and cadres of party who supported him on Wednesday (March 15) night. Agus and former candidate for vice governor, Sylviana Murni, have affirmed their readiness to get back to work. "I've already moved on and if you see Mrs. Sylvi's smile tonight, I'm sure she already moved on too," Agus said when delivering his farewell speech at Jakarta Theatre, Central Jakarta.

Agus statement applauded by cadres and sympathizers of the Democratic Party, National Mandate Party (PAN), National Awakening Party (PKB) and Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) that supported candidate pair Agus-Sylvi. Agus affirmed, after failing to the second round of Jakarta elections, he and Sylviana will return to work in their respective fields. "Insya Allah (God willing), I and Mrs. Sylvi will have good opportunities in various fields. Wherever I am, I will do for the sake of the nation and state," he said.

Besides thanked and apologized to the volunteers, sympathizers, supporters and cadres, Agus and Sylviana also expressed their expectations on the sustainability of the second round of the Jakarta elections. Agus said he hoped the second round smoothly and ethical. They also wanted Jakarta residents can choose the best leader for them. "In the second round, we did not have any authority to give command to vote certain candidate. It's up to you. I had a choice and of course you have a choice," he said.
