REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Rohingya refugees in Blang Adoe, North Aceh will soon get a more decent place to live. Most of them will stay in the Integrated Community Shelter (ICS) with the help of Fast Response Action (ACT).
Programme Coordinator of ICS, Rahadiansyah who is familiarly called Anca said, when Rohingya refugees moved to ICS in August, they immediately empowered with farming and animal husbandry.
"We will train them for raising cows and goats. In addition, freshwater fish cultivation, this is a sustainable program for their future," said Anca in Blang Adoe, North Aceh, on Friday, July 3.
The mothers, he said, when moved to the ICS could cook their favorite menus in the common kitchen. In addition they will also be given toilet training because they are not able to use the toilet properly.
"They will also be taught about reproductive health, women's health. This is all important to be taught," he said.
The transfer of Rohingya refugees to ICS, he said, was tantamount to restore their human dignity because they could perform normal daily activities. Children could go to school, fathers working with livestock and farming, while their mothers cooking.
In teaching them to use English and Indonesian. Most of them are able to speak on Malay and English so that it could translate to their friends.
