REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG -- Newly installed government is committed to boost the quality of internet connection in Indonesia. Minister of Communication and Informatic Rudiantara stated that the ministry would kick off a project called Broadband Plan this year to improve the connection.

"The project will run until 2019. We hope we will have better internet connection in 2019," minister said on Tuesday, November 25. The project also aims to expand the coverage and capacity of the internet access.

However, the project needs a big amount of funds. Rudiantara, who goes by one name, said the project needed 270 trillion IDR, including for the building of infrastructure, radio and satellite. The funds, he added, could be from Public Private Partnership, as an alternative for government's tight budget.
