IPA set to increase oil and gas production

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesian Petroleum Association (IPA) launched several agenda in 2014. The program was primarily to increase oil and gas production in Indonesia.

IPA President Lukman Mahfoedz explained, the first IPA would continue to give attention to the key issues of upstream oil and gas industry.

"It was IPA's effort to promote and support sustainable upstream oil and gas industry," he said at a press conference IPA Annual Report 2013, in Jakarta, Wednesday (4/12).

Second, Mahfoedz added, IPA would conduct discussions and consultations with the government and other relevant stakeholders on the issue of oil and gas industry.

Third, he said, IPA would hold IPA Convention and Exhibition with the theme of strengthening Indonesia partnership to enhance energy resilience and global competitiveness. The goal is to improve partnerships and boost Indonesia's energy sector.

Fourth, the IPA would advocate sharing contract (PSC) sanctity through various forums. Lastly, IPA would improve oil and gas companies CSR activities, particularly in the Greater Jakarta area.

IPA is a nonprofit organization founded in 1971 that represents companies and business operators in the upstream oil and gas industry. IPA consisted of 52 companies that operate the majority of the area of oil and gas operations in Indonesia.
