Jakarta has a car free night on new year's eve

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Celebrating new year's eve, Jakarta Provincial Government and Jakarta Police Department present Jakarta Night Festival. Due to car free night policy, no vehicle is allowed to enter the location along Jenderal Sudirman Street and MH Thamrin Street (from Senayan to Bank Indonesia building).

The festival will take place from 20.00 to 02.00 Western Indonesian Time. About 17 events in 17 different location, such as Jakarta Night Carnival, will entertain the visitors.

The fast lanes will be closed starting at 16.00 and every vehicle will be guided to use some alternative streets. Meanwhile, the slow lanes will be closed at 18.00, allowing the festival's committee to prepare the stages. The streets will be opened normally at 02.00.
