The Body Shop collaborates with Indonesian designer in JFW 2013

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - British cosmetic retailer The Body Shop collaborates with Indonesian designer, Lenny Agustin, for Jakarta Fashion Week (JFW) 2013. Agustin is very proud to work with such a big label.

The Body Shop picks Agustin to collaborate with because she concerns about environment and woman empowerment. Agustin recently trained women in Purwokerto, East Java, to turn garment waste into accessories. She also provided them some money and foods.

In JFW 2013, held last week, Agustin demonstrated her skill on playing technical in mode. She made flower from fabric origami although it was difficult task to make origami from fabric as it was not as stiff as paper.

Even though JFW was held four months faster than the initial plan, she successfully presented her masterpiece entitled Paper Garden. Her Japanese-inspired origami is applied in kebaya paired with Makassar saroong and batik.

Since she first appeared in 2008, she is identical with playful. Bright colours are always seen in her design. Agustin admitted that she was more expressive when playing with colours.

She said that her works are reflected from her character. "It is fun, playful, and expressive," she said.
