REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MACAU - Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam, is the only rival of Surabaya, Indonesia, in a bid to host Asian Games 2019 after Dubai (UAE) failed the administrative requirements set by Olympic Council of Asia (OCA). UAE did not meet the requirements, said the OCA President, Sheikh Ahmad Al Fahad Al Sabah, while welcoming the head of Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI), Rita Subowo, on Wednesday.

Subowo met Sheikh Ahmad to submit the requirements. As the leader of OCA, Sheikh Ahmad said that he would not take side in OCA General Assembly, which aimed to choose the host of Asian Games 2019.

Sheikh Ahmad even offered win-win solution to the two bidding cities. He said that whoever lose the bid would host Asian Youth Games 2021. "Vietnam accepts the offer," he said.

OCA General Assembly will be held on Thursday in Macau East Asian Games Dome. Indonesia last hosted Asian Games in Jakarta in 1962. It was attended by 1,460 athletes from 16 nations.
