Minister of Agriculture Suswono said the workshop was to continue Indonesian commitment towards Action Plan on Food Security on APEC Ministerial Meeting on Food Security in Niigata, Japan, 2010. Indonesia is responsible to draft important points related to world's food security problems.

Suswono said Indonesia planned to demonstrate to the world that the food materials could be generated from anywhere, even from home garden. Indonesia already has the model known as Sustainable Food House Region (KRPL).
