REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MANADO – Liverpool in UK and Manado in Indonesia would collaborate in education and trade, special staff of major of Liverpool, Alexander Melbourne, said that. Liverpool will soon build trade and educational center in Manado.

The cooperation will be started by integrating international education and universities in Manado, including student exchange program. Melbourne said on Monday that three universities in Manado, Universitas Samratulangi (Unsrat), Univeritas Kristen Indonesia Tomohon (UKIT), Universitas Katolik De La Salle, could visit Liverpool.

"We have two delegations from Manado studying in Liverpool. Students from Liverpool will also come to Manado," he said.

As a city which has two world class soccer clubs, Liverpool and Everton, Liverpool also prioritizes sports for Manado. They will open soccer school in Manado on October when the Major of Liverpool, Joe Anderson, is scheduled to attend the opening.

Soon after the agreement has signed, both cities can cooperate on education, trade, sports, tourism, and environment. "Manado will get many benefits because Liverpool also cooperates with Shanghai, New York, and Calau," he said. Manado will also have an opportunity to cooperate with those cities.
