REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MEDAN - The export of Indonesian instant coffee is increasing sharply until the first semester of 2012 despite the declining of coffee bean trading. "In 2011, the export volume of instant coffee was only around 8,000 tonnes. Now surprisingly, in the first semester of 2012, the export has reached 20,000 tonnes," the Chairman of Indonesian Coffee Exporters Association, Suyanto Hussein, said on Saturday.
The high demands seen from April to June and continue until August. The export destinations are ranging from China to Middle East countries. The price of arabica coffee abroad is around 5.5 USD per kilogram.
