REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesian largest cement producer, PT Semen Gresik, will change its name into Semen Indonesia by the end of 2012, according to the Minister of State-Owned Enterprise Dahlan Iskan. "Semen Indonesia will supervise Semen Padang, Semen Tonasa, and Semen Rembang," Dahlan said on Tuesday.
He said that President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono agreed with the change. Dahlan noted, Semen Indonesia had defeated the largest cement company in Southeast Asia, Siam Cement Thailand, and other cement producers in 10 countries. Dahlan argued that Semen Indonesia had the ability and big capacity.
"The management under the CEO Dwi Soetjipto is successfully proven to turn it as the largest cement producer in Southeast Asia," Dahlan said. Semen Indonesia plans to build four new manufactures in Rembang with the capacity around 2-3 million tonnes.
