REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The Ministry of Law and Human Rights insists on restriction of the remission for corruption convicts or convicts parole despite its decree on restricting remission was annulled by the Jakarta civil court PTUN. The ruling only voided on the annulment of those seven convicts’ parole, the Deputy Minister of Law and Human Rights, Denny Indrayana, said on Thursday.

Seven convicts on corruption cases got their parole, but the ministry annulled the decision. Objecting to the annulment, the convicts filed an appeal through their attorney, Yusril Ihza Mahendra, to PTUN and they won. “We must uphold PTUN’s verdict. The seven convicts get the parole,” Indrayana said.

However, the PTUN verdict is not applied to all cases in general. “Our policy on remission restriction is still in place,” Indrayana said.

The seven convicts who get the parole are Ahmad Hafiz Zawawi, Bobby Satrio Hardiwibowo Suhadirman, Mulyono Subroto, Hesti Andi Tjahyanto, Agus Wijayanto Legowo, H Ibrahim, and Hengky Baramuli.
