REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Head of Public Relations Bureau of Ministry of Health, Oscar Primadi, said halal certification for measles rubella vaccine could not be obtained in a short time. 

So far, the process towards certification has been started. "We have discuss and communicate it with Indonesia Council of Ulema (MUI)," he said when contacted on Thursday (October 12).

Oscar could not determine when exact time to process the halal certification for MR vaccine.

According to Oscar, it is not easy to get halal certificate. Nevertheless, he said, Ministry of Health is commited to file halal certification for MR vaccine. 

On the other hand, MUI have not receive the request from Ministry of Healthto check the ingredients of MR vaccine, whether it contained haram element or not.
