Online donation for Japan's mosque exceed two billion rupiahs

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Online donation for Chiba mosque construction in Japan through www.kitabisa.com has reached more than two billion rupiahs.

This figure also breaking records the greatest fundraiser compared to previous campaign for scholarship ball for Tristan Alif which successfully collected amount of Rp 879 million.

For many years, Indonesian Muslim community in Chiba rented a place to pray. This year, they tried to buy a building to be used as a mosque. The due date to pay off the building is on Sept. 20. If they could not afford it, the down payment will be forfeited.

They did many ways to raise funds and finnaly chose to conducted campaign through kitabisa.com. Since then, the pages have been shared thousand of times.

"Until Thursday (9/8) we have collected Rp 2,109,700,057 from 4,000 donors. The majority of donors are Indonesian people who viewed Facebook post from kitabisa. And a small part is Indonesian diaspora from various countries," CEO of Kitabisa. com, Alfatih Timur said in a press release on Thursday (8/9).

According to him, the campaign is running until the September 20, 2016. He said anyone interested in donating can go directly visit to kitabisa.com/masjidchibajepang. "Click the" Donate Now " then from there will appear an account number for transferring the donation," he said.
