REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MAKASSAR -- After selecting candidates for the chairman of Muhammadiyah in Tanwir meeting, thousands muktamirin (participants) will elect 13 names of management.

The elections start at 08.00 pm in the convention center of University of Muhammadiyah (Unismuh). There are 2.568 muktamirin who will choose the 13 names.

“The voting is done manually. Each participant writes down 13 names,” said the chairman of the 47th Congress of Muhammadiyah, Dahlan Rais, Tuesday (4/8).

Dahlan said that the election will not take a long time. It is not going to be difficult in choosing names. Since last night, the committee had spread the bio data of the 39 candidates, so that the voters can easily select the candidates.

The committee prepares 20 voting booths with 10 boxes. The vote will be counted by using Muhammadiyah e-counting. It also can be monitored in the internet at regmuktamar.muhammadiyah.or.id/voting/muhammadiyah page.

If the election has been completed, 13 names will meet on Friday (7/8). The results of the meeting then will be announced to the Tanwir participants. The most voted in the congress will not automatically be the chairman. The participants of the congress can also refuse the chairman that is selected.
