REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, KUALA LUMPUR -- Five Indonesian nationals were killed in a fire that gutted four homes in Sungai Gelugor Kampong, Taman Petani Jaya, Sungai Petani, Kedah, on Tuesday.

The fire started at 3:30 a.m. local time and spread very quickly, according to Utusan Malaysia.

Five people were killed on the scene, one seriously injured, and more than 20 others survived.

The dead were identified by their names as Mat Holil Tubat, 40, and his 30-year-old wife Ume, 30-year-old Habi, 19-year-old Misbah Hul Anwar, and 40-year-old Tabiyah.

Tabiyah's husband, Samsul, 40, suffered from 70 percent burn injuries.
