REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Director of International Security and Disarmament of Foreign Affairs Ministry, Andi Rachmianto said that the Government was preparing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) or agreement which will be discussed with IOM (International Organization for Migration) and UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees).

"We are now preparing a MOU draft which will be discussed with Malaysia," he said at Foreign Affairs Ministry’s Office, Central Jakarta, on Thursday, June 4.

The MOU agreement was a follow-up to the agreement of Indonesia and Malaysia about accommodate Rohingya refugees for one year before the refugees could get the state which want to accommodate them.

With the MOU, Andi continued, then there will be clarity about the fate of refugees and the two countries which were temporarily accommodate them.
