REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, ANKARA -- Turkey's Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc said Monday his government will continue working for cementing the cooperation and partnership with Greece the Greek Radical Coalition of the Left (Syriza), led by Alexis Tsipras, swept to victory in the parliamentary elections.

Speaking to reporters after a cabinet meeting, Arinc reaffirmed Turkey's foreign policy of non-interference in the domestic affairs of other countries.

Turkey, as a democratic country, respects the choices of the Greek people in the yesterday elections which brought Syriza to power, he said.

On the developments of the situation in Ain Al-Arab (Kobane) city, north Syria, Arinc said his country played a major role in the eviction of ISIL militants from the Kurdish city.

Turkey which offered great support to the Kurdish defenders of the city, is happy that the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant is defeated and is no longer able to pose threat to the lives of innocent people in border areas, he added.

Arinc noted that the reports on ISIL eviction from the city have yet to be confirmed.
